By the way: CFF shows tend to be smaller than TICA and CFA shows. They are very cozy and easy going... a wonderful show for a person new to showing cats and also just a nice show to go to if you are looking for something to do on a weekend.

January 2009 CFA Burlington Show

Got back from the show today around 5:30 pm. The show was great but sort of stressful and also by the end of Saturday and Sunday I had a horrible headache. Well after each cat show I have a huge headache no matter how much Tylenol I take (well as recommended for dosage in one day for the OTC Tylenol). I am slightly allergic to cats but normally I am okay with living with the number we have but at a show it is major overload of cat fur and dander! I actually have a headache right now : )

Well anyways here are some pictures from the show. I really did not take many just a couple pictures of each cat in the benching area in their cages. Here is Tabitha:

Tabitha LOVED the show and LOVED the attention from the judges. Of the three that I took to the show she was the one that enjoyed the showing and the judging the most and she even liked to be walked around the show hall.

Poor Ren......... Right behind Ren's cage in the benching area were two adult male cats being caged in the same cage and eventhough Ren could not see them they were technically about 3-4 inches from him..... and they had a major fight yesterday morning AND were hissing and talking all day tooo... well Ren was uneasy from that AND than on top of all that these two cats had a major (very major) fight today. It was very alarming actually and a couple other exhibitors on that side of the benching area asked the owner if she needed help... Well anyways POOR Ren was so stressed by these two cats that while he was being handled by the judges he was hissing on occasion and just not happy...... It was a very stressful show for him. He did like all the attention from the spectators though and normally I prefer that at a cat show that my cats are not touched but since Ren was so stressed I allowed anyone who asked to pet him to do so. Of course Ren loved all the attention he received and since I was holding him in my arms or in my lap he was feeling very safe. He purred up a storm actually for some of the spectators!!!
.
Buttercup did very well at the show. She went 2nd BOB three times! Very cool. She also loved the attention and eventhough she was never petted by the spectators (I only allowed Ren to be petted because he was so stressed out) many people talked to Buttercup through the bars of her cage and told her how beautiful she was and some talked "babytalk" to her- she LOVES that. She would knead her paws when anyone talked to her. Tabitha who was in the same cage with Buttercup also loved it when people would talked to her and she would knead her paws too and sometimes roll onto her back...
.
Buttercup, Ren and Tabitha cats are now CFA champions.
